Cars suspended from great heights are normally reserved for Hollywood movies or motor shows. It's not something you would imagine seeing in a city centre, especially one as historic as Edinburgh. Unless you turn your attention to the EICC, where you will see a MINI Paceman proudly suspended from the ceiling of the incredible new Atrium space. 'That's only the start of what can be done in this space," explains Marc Elvin, Sales and Business Development representative at the EICC. "The Lennox Suite alone has the capacity to hang 30 MINIs from the ceiling, all at the same time. The options we can provide our clients are pretty much endless."
Since the EICC revealed its newly expanded space, it has been keen to show that there are no limits where clients' imaginations start and the EICC's capabilities end. With the enhanced capacity and the impressive new facilities, delegates are now being offered an even more attractive package, and the EICC hopes to help clients showcase their products in the impressive surroundings. "Our biggest asset has to be our flexibility," says Mark. "As technology becomes more sophisticated, so does the demands of our society and that includes our clients and delegates. They want up-to-the minute conferencing facilities and we can provide that with our facilities and our five-star service. Our moving floor technology in the Lennox Suite is amongst the best in the world. We can do almost anything in that room, from product launches to sporting events."
For product launches, the EICC has a vast capacity. With 14 rooms within the For product launches, the EICC has a vast capacity. With 14 rooms within the venue that can accommodate cars, clients aren't limited to showcasing only certain aspects of their latest products. "The Lennox Suite has 129 rigging points, so not only can we display a range of products, but we also have the capacity to display them in a number of different ways. Traditionally, cars are displayed front on at product launches. At the EICC, we can display vehicles at numerous different angles, so that clients get to see all of the car and not just one facet."

Getting large-scale products into and out of the EICC sounds like it could be costly for delegates. But even this has been taken into account with the intelligent design of the expansion, by having a car transporter turntable in the loading bay, which is just off the Lennox Suite. "The turntable was designed with clients' costs in mind," says Marc. "The easier we can make it for our customers, the bigger an impact it will have on the man-hours required. This can result in significant cost savings for our clients."
Alongside the capabilities to display large-scale items in the EICC, it also has a range of highly-sophisticated technologies that allow clients to personalise the experience. "Our LED lighting systems are programmable, so we can take on a brands' colour schemes, logos and we can also project messages throughout the evening. We really can do whatever our clients require," says Marc.
There are virtually no limitations to what the EICC can do in this space, and as well as product launches, other large-scale events are also on the horizon. "There are events in the pipeline, which the EICC is very much looking forward to hosting. That's the beauty of the venue - one day it can be used for a conference, the next a product launch and the following it could be used for a sports championship. The Lennox Suite should really be considered as somewhere to let your imagination run free. We can transform it into anything."
When you combine all these features with a venue and team that have catered to royalty, presidents and prime ministers, you can trust that in the EICC you are in the best possible hands. "At the EICC we are all committed to making it the best experience possible for our delegates. In the past we've always achieved this and we are all very excited about delivering this experience to the many more clients we look forward to welcoming to our spectacular venue," Marc says.
