Something I think we can all agree on is how quickly time passes by. This is particularly pertinent for me as I bring you my last edition of Conference Call. After successfully leading the business for 21 years and establishing the EICC as a global brand, it is time for me to leave the stage and to hand over responsibility to Marshall Dallas, who will lead our magnificent venue during the next exciting phase of its journey.

With this in mind, our cover feature charts the EICC over the past two decades, from its conception to the world-class venue that it is today. This edition's Spotlight feature takes a look at how Edinburgh is changing with a number of new developments that will have a positive impact on both the landscape and the city's economy.

The festive season is just around the corner and so we are turning our attention to welcoming 2015 in our Hidden Gems feature. Nowhere brings in the New Year like Scotland, so why not celebrate in style at one of the five events we have featured? They are sure to get you in the party spirit.
